514 o 482A image1920, 2¢ deep rose, type Ia, unwatermarked, Schermack type III perfs (Scott 482A), cleanly printed in robust rubine, clean perforations at right with an unobtrusive wavy-line cancel, Fine, an exceptionally rare stamp, with only 40 examples recorded, with 1975 P.F. (signed Neinken) and 2013 P.S.E. certificates.

Scott #482A, like its slightly more valuable counterpart, #314A, was issued imperforate by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and sold to the Schermack Company for use in its patented stamp-affixing machines. The Schermack "Sealer and Stamper" machine typically applied stamps one at a time and, in most cases, the hyphen-hole perforations on one side would be cut off. Unlike Scott #314A, the issue and release of imperforate sheets printed from the experimental Type Ia plates went unnoticed by collectors of the time, which is why so few have survived till now.

515 485 image1917, 5¢ carmine color error, unwatermarked, imperf (Scott 485), the single error in a block of 6, the error at position 2, Post Office fresh with compelling color and clean lines, the block with full to wide margins all around; error lightly hinged, surrounding 2¢ stamps never hinged, Extremely Fine, with 2018 P.F. certificate.

While being produced, the regular 2¢ plate produced from plate number 7942 had three positions that were defective. The plate was returned to the siderographer, who burnished out the three defective positions and mistakenly used the transfer roll for the 5¢ stamp. The errors passed unnoticed and the sheets were issued and released to the public in perforation 10, imperforate and perforation 11 corresponding to Scott #467, #485 and #505. The imperforate is by far the rarest of the three.
