188 C1a imageColombia, Airmail, 1919, 2c Barranquilla - Porto Colombia Flight, 1's in date with serifs (Scott C1a), tied on piece by Barranquilla c.d.s.s, Jun 18, 1919, the day of issue, Very Fine, an exceedingly rare Airmail variety, signed D. Forester, with 1991 Holcombe certificate.
Scott $4,250.
Estimate $1,500 - 2,000

200 stamps were overprinted in strips of 10, which had been severed with a knife (all examples have blunted top & bottom perfs). The fifth stamp in each strip had both 1's in the date with serifs. Thus only 20 of the variety were produced. It is estimated that about 160 stamps—presumably including both types—were used on covers.
