185 343 image1908, 1¢ green, Schermack type III with 9 pin control mark (Scott 343), single, tied by NY, NY Sta E 1909 machine cancel on Review of Reviews Co. corner card addressed Los Angeles, Cal; missing pins 5-6-8-9; while McCoy records 181 stamps with this pattern only 26 are found on the 1¢ stamp, 25 of which are Scott 343, and only 27 covers in all, most of which should be with the 2¢ stamp; he also notes that this pattern was used by the John Wanamaker Co. and not the Review of Reviews Co.; cover with a small cover tear and small creasing at upper right which do not seem to affect the stamp, a Very Fine cover.
