1482 243 image1893, $3 Columbian (Scott 243), o.g., barest trace of hinge (appears never hinged, slight bit of glazed gum), premium quality example with the deepest and richest color imaginable, this stamp was one a remarkable never hinged stamp, but the mount that it was kept in caused a bit of gum glazing that keeps this stamp from being considered a pristine mint stamp; as fresh and choice as the very first day it was sold over the Post Office counter, Very Fine.
