1664   imageComprehensive Colorado Cover Collection, approximately 200 covers and picture postcards and postal cards from a variety of towns (Colorado became a state in 1876; so anything prior is Territorial), 19th century town cancels include "Park, Park Co." (1884), Webster (1863). Ward District (1894 with maltese cross killer), "Mill City Col. TY" Dumboldt (1895), "Mill City Col. Ty." (c. 1870, #114), "Pueblo C.TY." (c. 1870, #114), Mountain City (#65, 1862), Burlington (Longmont; "Chicago Colorado Colony" corner card; August 1871 docketing on back), Rocky Ford (1888), Spanish Bar (manuscript on #65; 1865), "Texas Creek" (1872-1882; on #UX5), Crook (large purple studded circle; 1883), couple official business legal sized including "Office Chief Commissary of Subsistence Dept. of the Missouri, Fort Leavenworth Kansas", also includes a group of Colorado and related ephemera including Rand McNally & Co. railroad maps of Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Wyoming, 7 stock certificates, 5 checks (3 with revenue stamps), and Colorado town cancels on fronts (approx. 180) and "cut squares" (approx. 700) taken from covers and post cards (minor duplication), also includes a handful of non-Colorado and two large pieces of linen sent by registered mail from Kobe Japan to Los Angeles, two pretty all-over multicolor advertising covers, a few older auction catalogs and pieces of philatelic literature and gold stamps "Postmasters of America", some faults as always but many sound and very salable, overall Fine to Very Fine with some better, see much of this lot online.
