Fremont & Dayton 1856, portrait of Fremont facing left on yellow envelope, franked by 1857 3¢ Washington (#26), tied by "Lowell/AUG/[day unclear]/1858/Ms." postmark; addressed to New Boston, N.H.; stamp sound, the cover with some foxing and a small tear at top center of no real consequence, Very Fine, ex Bischel (this is the Bischel Sale Lot 246).

Lincoln & Hamlin, attractive pale yellow envelope with Flag, Constitution and Shaking Hands design, "Liberty and Union!" printed below, the flag being overprinting by blind-embossed "Slavery/Sectionalism…" imprint; backflap blind embossed "HON. ABRAHAM LINCOLN OF ILL./FOR PRESIDENT;/HON. HANNIBAL HAMLIN OF ME./FOR V. PRES."; franked by 1861 3¢ Washington (#65) tied by black grid with double-ring Milwaukee, Wis. postmark of Feb. 2, 1863 alongside; addressed to Madison, Wis.; remarkably clean for its age; originating as a Campaign Cover, this was changed into a Patriotic Cover following the 1860 Election—the only known combination Campaign & Patriotic Cover (one of two known to us; the other, from Whitewater, Wis., offered in the Bischel sale), Very Fine.
