1073 cover   image1931-1933, Inter-Island Airways air express service, 5 covers: there are two types of handstamps: Type 1, three-line with central wings in blue and Type 2, three-line "to be called for" in purple. Type 1 is found on two covers: 1931 (Aug 11), Hilo to a haberdasher in Honolulu and 1931 (Oct 28), Hilo to Honolulu, docketed in pencil on a Railway Business envelope. A faint strike of Type two is found on a 1932 (Apr 2) Hilo to Honolulu cover tying 4¢ & 8¢ Washington Bicents., a bit tatty; another faint strike (date uncertain) on a Honolulu to Hilo cover with an additional straight-line "via Air Express" in purple, trimmed on left not affecting markings, and a perfect strike of Type 2 dated Mar 17, 1933, Hilo to Honolulu (probably philatelic). Also included, FF cover for AM Route 33 (revised) and lovely Inter-Island Airways baggage label. An extraordinary group of very rare covers, Very Fine.
