at lower-left - to good, bars cancel of Sydney, Cat £1800. Ex Charles Lathrop Pack, 'Manwood' and Gary Diffen: sold for £960, and at our auction of 1.12.2021 for $1375. RPSofV Certificate (2008). Most of the 20 or so recorded examples are defective:
this is one of the finest examples.

1856-60 Small Diadems 1d orange-vermilion SG 107 horizontal corner paIr from the upper-left of the sheet, margins close to
humungous with a small-part of the Ornamental Design in the left-hand margin, vertical crease through the left-hand unit, unused, Cat £900+, for normal singles. A remarkable positional piece. Fun fact: the decoration is often referred to as
"convolvulus" - which is a plant as in the margins of the the 5/- Coin & 20/- Governors - but does not appear on any of the other values. [The illustration is above the next Lot]

1856-60 Small Diadems 2d blue Plate I SG 112 irregular block of 15 Pos [12/23-24/31-36/43-48] including a vertical pair [24/36]
with Major Retouches, virtually full margins, some wrinkling & a diagonal crease across five units, 20mm closed vertical cut between units [33-34] just touching the right-hand margin of [33] and closed tear across the lower-left unit, large-part
original gum, Cat £9000+ being for normal units x13, the listed Major Retouch [24] SG 112a and we believe unit [36] should be priced at the same figure (so £2750 each). An extraordinary imperforate multiple, being one of the largest surviving from

1860-72 Perforated Diadems Perf 12 all-different shades comprising 1d x4, 2d Plate I x3, 2d Plate II x3, 3d yellow-green, 5d
yellowish green, 6d x9, 8d orange SG 150 and 1/- x4, generally well centred, some characteristic rough perfs, all but the 8d are neatly cancelled, Cat £2500 minimum. A very challenging group to assemble in this quality. All stated to be Perf 12 and
the ones we checked are correct but personal assessment is recommended.

£280+; and one a corner piece) all with huge Imperforate Sheet Margins on one or two sides, a few imperfections but a remarkable lot. In the Perf 12 issues, the sheet margins were not perforated.
