£1 grey ACSC 53A (SG 75) marginal block of 12 from the left of the sheet [L25-27/43-45], of very fresh appearance but the gum is
evenly aged, the upper-central unit very lightly mounted otherwise the block is entirely unmounted, Cat $42,250+ for one mounted and eleven unmounted singles (£7800+ for mounted singles). A highly desirable multiple, believed to be the equal-largest
known mint block. Arthur Gray's similarly-configured block of 12 from the right of the left-hand pane, with similarly aged gum and all but one unit unmounted, sold for US$19,550. It seems likely that both blocks are from the same sheet and were
probably both in the Lesley Abramovich Collection. Ex 'Chartwell' (sold for £4560) and 'Artemis'.
