ESSAYS: One horizontal and two different vertical photographic reductions to stamp-size of different aspects of the GPO building each
set within different frames for a ½d issue, the frames being separate elements of the designs, the essay with 'Moorish' frame is affixed to a piece of card (90x115mm) endorsed "D" at upper-left & "Aug 23rd 98" at upper-right, the others endorsed "Aug
23 1898" on the reverse.
The first aspect of the building was approved, the 'Moorish' arch replaced on the issued stamps with a more conventional frame.
