postmark on cover to Miss Margaret F. Foglesong at Sharon Va., Fine and scarce Goodson straightline use.

The likely sender was Private Crockett Foglesong, the addressee's cousin, of Co.
B. 29th Va Inf. In late 1863 and early 1864, the unit was assigned to the Department of the Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee and was therefore in the Goodson area at the time of the straightline use. The SL-03C without the month is third state
known used from Nov. 1863 into 1864. The three states of the Goodson straightline cancel was published in the Confederate Philatelist Jan-Feb 1994.
