This scarce Union patriotic cover from the first two months of the Civil War features a scarce early design showing Union General Winfield Scott putting a large cone with American Flag on it over Jefferson Davis and a Southern compatriot hauling the barrel of a cannon, with palmetto tree in the background.Davis is seated at a table and has just placed two bags of money on top of it. His Anaconda Plan was to choke the south with a naval and land blockade to help destroy the Confederate will and commerce. (Image1)
