Henderson to Paris, France bearing 10¢ 1897 issue as free franking privileges did not extend to international mail, tied by "Dubuque Iowa May 13 1901" duplex, ms. notations in both English and French state letter was opened in error in Paris, letter resealed in Paris with pieces of stamp selvage and handstamped with two-line "Retour A L'Envoyeur", returned to Washington (due to Speaker of House return address), N.Y. Foreign Section "Paid All" in circle handstamp, readdressed to Vermilion, South Dakota and additionally franked with 2c 1897 Issue tied by "Colfax Iowa Oct 1" cds, typeset seal added in either Colfax or Vermilion and tied by "Vermilion Oct 3" cds, a Very Fine use, the only recorded example of this unusual large seal, illustrated in Scott..
