West Saxony: 1945 Leipzig large numeral in circle opt Hitler set 6pf-12pf, ea on cover or postcard (6pf). 6pf & 12pf tied by 'Zwenkau 4.8.45.8 B2 Leipzig' cds & the 8pf by 'Zwenkau 3.8.45.5 B2 Leipzig' cds. VFU. Mi AI-AIII cat €1100+ as loose stamps & €2300+ on covers. These opts prepared as a general Soviet Zone issue but due to miscommunication between Russian commanders, order was given to withdraw stocks from POs & destroy them. However, Holzhausen & Zwenkau POs did not get the order in time & sold a small quantity on 3rd August. Very rare used especially with Zwenkau pmks. 2014 Ceremuga photo certs. (3).
