405 - Texas Postal History Lot imageTexas Postal History Lot, 1885//1936, consisting of (9) covers and (3) letters; most covers (5) are State of Texas Advertising and (1) private ad mimicing the state covers (very interesting). The State covers are for the Texas Supreme Court, Dept. of Education and General Land Office. The 1927 letter is by Rev. T.O. Perrin to a friend in Philadelphia and mentions the Texas Rangers mission to "clean up" Borger, Tx and also a red pmk (probably magenta) of Stinnet, Tx (cover included). The 1933 letter is a fund raising letter by the trustee (C.N. Bartholomew) for Texas Day at the 1933 Chicago World's Fair; included is a Texas Day Official cover pmk'd Aug 23, 1933 with a FAIR Agenda enclosed, and last is 1936 letter concerning the Texas Centennial year celebration and the effort to create a SAN JACINTO DAY cachet (Image)
