Internet, Mail, and Phone Auction 3108 - November 22, 2023

Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains 691 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike. A few of the highlights include the following:

Lot 10 - Scott No. 84, rare 2¢ Black "D" Grill with 2021 PSE certificate Lot 37 - 2¢ Columbian "BROKEN HAT" variety, right-side imprint block of 16 Lot 46 - 50¢ Columbian, Scott No. 240, XF-Superb, LH, gorgeous stamp! Lot 72 - Spectacular 2¢ Lincoln on Bluish paper, Superb, NH Scott No. 369 Lot 490 - RW1 Plate Block of 6, a very scarce plate block!

  • UNITED STATES, There are (121) U.S. lots offered, with about (34) being an assortment of Classics, several Pictorials, and Banknotes. There are (13) lots of Columbian issues. The rest are a mixture of Pan Americans, Louisiana Purchase, Panama Pacific, Washington-Franklins, and the late 20s and modern issues, with about 1/2 dozen Graded issues; several GEM 100 grades.
  • COVERS, There are about (40) Cover lots, (6) Commercial covers, and (33) First Day Cover lots, with more than half being Crosby photo-cachets. Also, includes a C14, the $1.30 Graf Zeppelin, on flown cover.

  • AIRMAIL AND BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, This section contains (45) lots; (9) of which are Air Post issues and (36) Back of Book issues, including a newspaper PR4 (slight fault), the 5¢ Light Blue, Pos. 1

  • ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, (36) Lots of EFO's are offered, with missing colors, color mis-registration, and mis-perforation issues; includes an unusual variety of #68.

  • GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, There are about (150) lots to consider, including some nice lots from Canada, Great Britain, Germany, and many other countries. Of special interest, is lot no. 267 Bhutan 10ch-9nu 1973 Phonographic Records Stamp Set of (7).

  • AUTOGRAPHS & MISCELLANEOUS, There are (33) Miscellaneous and Autograph lots with a few notable Autographs of actress Greta Garbo, composer Rudolph Friml and movie magnate Dore Schary. The rest includes various Memorabilia, Literature and odds/ends.

  • DUCK AND CONSERVATION STAMPS & PRINTS, contains about (260) lots, with a mix of Federal, State, Foreign, Artist Signed stamps, EFO's, and other duck related categories. There are FDC's and Collections to consider, and a few Junior Duck Stamp lots. Also, (15) lots of Plate Number Singles, and (93) lots of Federal stamps, consisting of singles, plate blocks and a few plate block matched sets. There a few miscellaneous items: Mini-sheets, and Artist Signed stamps and duck stamp error lots, with most being where the offset color has been mis-registered, some quite dramatic! There are (27) State Ducks, Conservation Fishing and Governor's Editions. Rounding out the popular duck stamp categories, are (8) highly sought after early Federal Duck stamp prints, and (2) Conservation prints.
