Internet, Mail and Phone Auction 3091 - April 6, 2022

Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, April 06, 2022 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains 651 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike. A few of the highlights include the following:

  • UNITED STATES, There are (113) U.S. lots with several nice Classics; highlighting a Brown Orange #1 (1d) an attractive OG #65 Blk/4, and several really nice high value Columbians . Also, there are a few nice Banknotes; a few (about 16) Exposition and 1890's Regular issues that includes $1 and $2 Trans-Mississippi. Also, just a few lots (26) of Washington Franklins and late1920's issues. You can also find a nice variety of 1930 to Date, with just a few Graded issues with PSE certificates.
  • COVERS, There are (40) Cover lots - (13) Commercial, and (27) First Day Covers that include a few hand-painted items and seldom offered cachet artists. Also, an extremely scarce First Day color illustrated PPC for the 3 cent Baseball Centennial Issue at Cooperstown, New York.

  • AIRMAIL AND BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, Contains (33) lots of Airmails and Back of Book issues; including several (7) lots of interesting and scarce test stamps.

  • ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, (15) Lots of EFO's are offered. A variety of mis-perfs, different shades and color shifts, under inking, etc. Great selection.

  • GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, includes (161) lots from a variety of countries; Argentina, Bahamas, Brazil, Newfoundland, Canada, Peoples Republic of China, Denmark, Falklands, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Netherlands and Colonies. There are some must see items here for the Foreign collector! In our group of collections, you'll find Bicycle Topical and Black Heritage Society Collections.

  • AUTOGRAPHS & MISCELLANEOUS, There are (4) lots of political autographs, including Presidents Truman and Eisenhower, a Prime Minister for Queen Victoria circa 1860 and an influential Texas Congressman (Wright Patman). Also (5) lots of numismatic 'First Day' covers.

  • DUCK AND CONSERVATION STAMPS, PRINTS (Federal, Junior and State) contains about (277) lots. There are (14) Junior Duck stamp lots and (27) Plate Number Singles. We hope you find the one to complete this portion of your collection! There are (81) Federal lots, (5) Mini-sheets (all Graded with PSE certificates), and (32) Errors, with mis-perfs, shifted colors, etc. For the Press sheet collector, we have a selection of (10) lots of various configurations. Also, we have (18) Artist Signed Federal stamps to help fill out your signature collection, including an RW11 signed by Walter Weber. There are a variety of State duck stamps (42), Governor's Editions (33), and (5) Conservation and Indian Reservation lots. To finish the sale, you will find (7) Federal and State Duck Prints, that includes RW1, signed by artist J.N. "Ding" Darling, and an RW7 signed by F.L. Jacques; and (1) State print - a 2013 Washington State of Northern Shovelers.
