Sam Houston Philatelics Sale - 3081

Mail, Phone and Internet Auction 3081 - April 28, 2021

Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains 600 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike, including a large selection of graded items. A few of the highlights include the following:

  • UNITED STATES, There are about (110) U.S. lots, with about (40) early issues, including RI Postmaster Provisionals, a rare no. 84 (Average condition) with a strong grill, and a beautiful sound Unused no. 120. There is a nice selection of Banknotes, as well as a 50cent Columbian no. 240. For the Kansas Overprint collector, you will find a complete set of blocks of 4; and a number of graded stamps (about 20) in the 1930 to date section with selections of 90/95/98 grades.

  • COVERS, There are (50) Cover lots; Commercial, Flight and First Day Covers, including a C2 on cover for the first day of the then new 16cent airmail rate. An interesting and nice selection of covers.

  • AIRMAIL AND BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, contains over (50) lots of Airmails and Back of Book issues. There are a number of Newspaper stamps and Computer vended stamps with a mix of Proofs, Special Delivery and Test stamps.

  • ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, a quiet selection of (2).

  • MISCELLANEOUS, There are (10) interesting miscellaneous items, (7) lots of Sports Cards (very rarely offered), early PPC including 1893 Exposition and Portland Rose "parade"; and other odds and ends.

  • GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, about (130) lots with a variety of countries including: Argentina, Belgium, Canada (several nice sets), China (PRC), Falklands, German States, Great Britain with a nice no.90, and other countries, plus a Virgin Islands no. 1. There are (7) US collections, (6) Foreign, a couple World Wide and Topical items.

  • DUCK STAMPS AND CONSERVATION STAMPS (Federal, Junior and State) contains about (385) lots, which includes (6) Souvenir Cards and a couple FDC's to start. There are (2) nice Federal collections. In addition, there are (8) Junior Duck stamps. Also, a selection of (14) Federal Plate Number Singles, (73) Federal Duck singles and Plate Blocks; (14) Federal Duck Sheets, Mini-sheets and Press Sheet pieces, (15) Duck Errors, and about (45) Federal and State Artist Signed. A small selection of (17) State Duck stamps and two collections, (12) Governor's Edition lots, Conservation and Fishing items. The sale ends with a selection of (19) Prints; (9) Federal, and (8) State Duck Prints, with a scarce RW10 by F.L. Jacques and First Edition of Maynard Reece's RW38. All state prints are 1st of State and include Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, Kansas, Texas, Vermont and Washington. Quite a selection of prints, from which to choose!
