Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, November 04,
2020 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains 659 lots, with material
in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers
alike, including a selection of graded items in US, B.O.B and Federal Duck
stamps. A few of the highlights include the following:
UNITED STATES, There are about (125) U.S. lots, with (40) Early Issues,
including (11) lots of no. 7 and no. 9 singles, and multiples with various
plate positions. There are (26) lots of Exposition and Bureau Issues
(Columbian through Pan-Pacific) with a great looking no. 311. The late
1890's and early 20th Century issues total (33) lots, with no. 451 violet
coil pair and no. 606a Joint Line Pair. The 1930 to Date section has (28)
lots, including a few Graded items. Also, there are (6) interesting PNC
lots.
COVERS, There are (25) Cover and First Day Cover lots; the majority
being First Day Covers. A nice selection of covers, including an
interesting usage for a Walt Disney FDC.
AIRMAIL AND BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, contains (32) lots of Airmails and
Back of Book issues, which includes a NH copy of C15 and the Violet-Blue
variety of E8 (E8a).
ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, (3) Very seldom seen examples of EFO coil
stamps with leader strips.
GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, (58) lots with a variety of countries
lots (Falkland Islands, France, French Africa, Italy, and the Vatican.
Also, some sets and singles from the Falklands, Germany, New Zealand and
others.
AUTOGRAPHS & MISCELLANEOUS, There are (16) assorted Autograph items.
Mostly entertainment and music.
DUCK STAMPS AND CONSERVATION STAMPS (Federal, Junior and State)
contains about (380) lots, which include (11) Junior Duck stamps (including
four graded and two artist signed), (16) Plate Number Singles, (122)
Federal Duck issues, including (25) Graded; (9) Mini-sheets with (7) graded
including three GEMS, (16) Press Sheet pieces, (25) Duck Errors, and about
(70) Federal and State Artist Signed; a selection of (70) State duck
stamps, (23) Governor's Edition lots, and (7) Conservation and Fishing
items. The sale ends with a selection of (12) prints; (5) Federal,
including a 1st Edition RW22 print, and (7) State Duck Prints, with all but
one being 1st of state/nation (Mexico) and a Missouri Governor's Edition
with hand-signed stamp. A very nice selection of prints here!
