The Sale contains 1419 lots, representing the property of 47 owners.

The Auction presents:

  • United States - Classic and modern imperforated varieties and color errors;
  • Nice selection of Great Britain and British Commonwealth, including:
    • A range of Australian States with Classic Collection of Tasmania;
    • New Zealand and Cape of Good Hope items from the Queen Victoria period;
    • Sierra Leone Wilberforce and Tanganyika Giraffe sets in mint never hinged condition;
  • strong People's Republic of China Collection, containing 120 single and collective lots;
  • German area items, representing Third Reich, Offices Abroad and Colonies, valuable anti-Nazi propaganda items;
  • Italian lots are shown World War II Occupation of Ithaca in complete mint never hinged set of 13, including the stamp of 80 l (not priced in mint condition), it has Dr. D. Bolaffi certificate and Sassone C.v. is over €120,000;
  • TRADITIONALLY COMPREHENSIVE RUSSIAN MATERIAL:
    • Imperial Postage Stamps and Postal History include nice stationery items with essays of wrapper from 1882-84, reply letter card of 1896 and Romanov postcard of 1913, unused No.2 and 3, complete pane of No.30, showing seven cross-shaped "T" varieties, collections of TPO markings and other Postal History lots;
    • RSFSR Issues are showing very rare proofs of "Sword Breaking Chain", "Star with Sickle and Hammer" of 1920 and proof of 1r in brown orange from the first RSFSR definitive set;
    • Soviet Union Section presents a nice range of early Advertising Labels, Esperanto set in unfolded horizontal gutter pairs; Moscow Philatelic Exhibition souvenir sheet on a card; Architectural Congress sheet without text at top and bottom; extremely rare farm worker 20k green with perforation L12½ in marginal block of four and Lenin 3k black of 1934 in corner margin horizontal pair imperforated between stamps;
    • Russian Semi-Postal issues and Air Post Sections with nice lots of Philately for the Children and Philately for the Labor, Fokker "F-111" with wide "5" variety (Scott #C4a) in mint condition (only 50 stamps were printed), Moscow Zeppelin Flight imperforated set of two, Moscow-San Francisco Flight surcharges, range of "North Pole – Moscow" overprints of 1955, including 2r stamp in block of six with perforation L12½, and many others;
    • Outstanding Group of Offices Abroad including cover from Russian PO in Shanghai, franked by 14 values, including not recorded stamp of 4k with inverted "Kitai" overprint;
    • Nice selection of Locals of the Civil War Period of 1918-22 with valuable items from Far Eastern Republic, Siberia, and South Russia;
  • Beautiful range of single lots and collections of Armenia with rarities and positional blocks of surcharges on the First Constantinople issue;
  • Valuable Mongolia and Tannu Tuva items, including several nice postal history items;
  • Classic Ukraine represents a strong range of various Trident Overprints, notable items from Dr. Seichter, Dr. Zelonka, and other World-class Collections, there are several lots of Western Ukraine also;
  • Worldwide lots from Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Crete, Finland, France and Territories, Iran, Israel, Korea and North Korea, Latvia, Monaco, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Spain and Colonies, Switzerland and many more;
  • Worldwide Topical issues such as Chess, "Fauna and Flora" and Olympic Games;
