2477 P image1891 Proposed Keyplate Issue De La Rue appendix sheet for the planned new issue in a uniform design, with 6d imperforate Colour Trials in dull lilac (8) or in dull green (4), with value tablets usually in contrasting colours of white, red-brown, green, blue, carmine or brown, all with legend 'TASMANIA' hand-painted in Chinese White, proposed denomination for each essay entered alongside in manuscript; beneath the essays is a manuscript annotation stating The 1d and 2d duties are included in the above colour scheme, although we believe it is proposed at present to produce the stamps from the existing plates. If so, it will be necessary to print them in "Doubly Fugitive" inks, in order to make them available for both Postage and Revenue purposes. We would propose purple for the 1d and green for the 2d. Quite magnificent.
