Oldlouis Auctions Sale - 11

Public Auction: Russian Postal History & Mute Cancellations, Carpatho-Ukraine, Tridents - November 17-27, 2020

Welcome to our sale 11 offering Postal History of Russia, Mute Postmarks of Russia, Carpatho-Ukraine, and Ukrainian Tridents. Some specific areas of interest:
  • Russian Postal History.
The first part of the Post History of Russia presents a collection of the rarest items with MUTE cancellations from Russia during the First World War. New opened places of use of mute stamps, previously unknown stamps of identified places, as well as cancellations, known in single copies.

The second part presents all periods of the Postal History of Russia in the 19th and 20th centuries - departures by city mail, rare types of international and domestic exchange, mail cars, and rare postcards. Particularly interesting is the section of postage to Russian monasteries in the Ottoman Empire (Mt. Athos, Constantinople) and the responses of the monasteries and the Synod. Report forms of sketes, various forms of payments: money letters, transfers, notifications from the Synod about the contribution.

In the third part - the provincial mail of the First World War and rare cases of mail of prisoners of war. Shipments from small post offices, from which you cannot find even peacetime shipments. And also mail of prisoners of war, including letters from Russian prisoners of war in the organization, money letters to prisoners, rare directions of correspondence of prisoners of war.

  • Ukrainian Tridents
Presented stamps and cover from the collections of Dr. Seichter, Zelonka, and Faberge. The 1,260 well-structured lots represent the majority of existing overprint types, including local issues and extremely high catalog value items. A unique opportunity to expand your collection with guaranteed genuine trident overprints on stamps.

  • Carpatho-Ukraine,
you will find stamps and envelopes issued at 10-50 copies and catalog prices up to $5,000. And also rare lots with special cancellation postmarks of the cities of Carpatho-Ukraine. In addition to this auction, several dozen lots of the Ukrainian People's Republic are presented.
