1838 pre-stamp wrapper to Wesleyan Missionary Society, London, ex "R. Williams, St. John. 18 Sept. 1838. Received 17 Oct. 1838" (from where? - possibly Antigua or Newfoundland?) Illegible m/s rate on front. On flap, good/fine almost complete stepped-frame h/s "SHIP LETTER/DOVER". Fine & clean.

1839 pre-stamp entire ex Havana, Cuba to London, GB, m/s "Via Charleston" [USA]. Black m/s on front "3/2 (3/2d to pay); on back, m/s "1/7" (1/7d). With fine h/s "LIVERPOOL/SHIP LETTER" (unframed) & red London cds 10 DE 1839. Addressed simply to "Messrs. Fredk. Huth & Co., London". Very good cond.
