705 C 1906 commercial cover ex NSW to NZ franked NSW 1d Arms, canc unclear duplex d/s JY 28. M/s "Printed Matter Only", then (in another hand) "Not sufficiently opened", & with large blue pencil m/s "10T". On back, irregular block of 10 (1 damaged) x NZ 1d Postage Due type 2, p11 SG D19, canc blue pencil m/s, over top of Wellington & Dunedin receipt machine d/s. The U.P.U. "T" (= taxe) markings on international mail indicated French gold centimes. In this case, "10" = "10c" = 1d; double the deficiency would be 2d to be paid, not 10d. So, misunderstood in NZ? Opened 3 sides, good cond. Note SG D19 was used for 1 year only.
