Austria, 1850, Hungary, TOKAY, 12 p, 5 H III, 9 kr, Hand-made paper, with line puncture 14, so-called “Tokay puncture”, on an incomplete letter from TOKAY to PEST, the stamp is cancelled with a complete and continuous imprint of the black single-circle stamp “TOKAY 24 / 9”, it is angular and has particularly wide margins pierced all around and is fresh ! The stamp was probably already partially detached from the stationery and shows light to thin areas. (It is possible that this is a reused piece). The letter is trimmed on the right (but the contents are still intact) and has the complete transition stamp “TALLYA 25 / 9” as well as the complete arrival stamp from 27 / 9 on the back; It is shortened at the bottom and slightly widened in the upper edge, it dates from 1853, was auctioned as lot no. 158 at the Dorotheum in Vienna as part of the “Friedl'schen Spezialsammlung” in May 1917 and is included in the monograph “Die Line piercings from Tokay and Homonna” by Klaus P.
