1801, ANN: Folded letter dated "Quebec 29th October 1801", addressed to Greenock, with good strike of two-line "STRANRAER SHIPIRE" alongside, charged 2/9d., a transit of only 25 days, one of the last ships to sail before the St Lawrence River froze, fine

1801, DECATUR: Folded letter from New York 23rd March 1801 as a duplicate (original per "Pegasus”) to Edinburgh and redirected to Leith. With good strike of red "Ship Letter GREENOCK” alongside, incorrectly charged 2/4d, as a triple letter the rate should have been 3 x 4d ship letter from a Post Office agent overseas and 3 x 6d inland (80 miles), fine and attractive
