Jasmin Auctions Sale - 150

International Online Auction - April 13, 2019

We are pleased to present our finest auction of US and worldwide postal history, stamps and ephemera. Highlights include a strong offering of zeppelin flight covers (Japan flight with mixed postage and a Polar flight cover with Scott Germany C40a missing hyphen), early blimp postcards, transatlantic stampless folded letters and a large collection of aerophilately featuring a rare AAMC 1167 1932 Mattern and Griffin "Round the World" flight cover. We have two collections of early Christmas Seals on cover/postcards and individual Christmas Seal cover lots...among the finest collections we have seen.

US and worldwide stamps are well represented with rarities and high values. Check out US Scott #186 and Lombardy Scott #7 and #9. Individual US revenue stamps and large lots of revenues, early tobacco, snuff and cigar wrappers and tax stamps are also prominent. Be sure to search all our listings, especially the large lots and collections as your collecting specialty may be in a number of areas. Plenty of bargains for all. Stampless transatlantic lots include ex-Walske lots. Steven Walske is a pre-eminent postal historian. His collection documents the evolution of how mail between the United States and France was handled and paid in the years leading up to the establishment of the Universal Postal Union in 1874. His work solved many of the complications and misunderstood UPU mail exchange rates between the US and France during the stampless period when weights were calculated differently. His collection won a large gold award in 1997. Good lots of Christmas Seals, poster stamps, EFOs Cinderellas, early 1900s American postcards. Fancy cancels on and off cover, large postal history cover lots, US and worldwide collections, historic documents and early ephemera. The quality and provenance of this material is certain to attract strong bidding.

Lots are sold to the high bid at one increment over the second high bid. Bid online until 6 pm EDST, Saturday, April 13.

IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE BEFORE BIDDING

We encourage you to examine the images for all lots carefully, for centering, desirable postmarks, perfins, color variations and condition. Individual stamps have descriptions. Large lots are sold as is. While most items are sound, some faulty material is to be expected. Expect mint stamps in large lots to be hinged (and smile when they are mnh). Because of the extent of the material offered, we have mounted most of the material on stock pages, but some items have been photographed in loose piles. Be sure to check large lots completely as stamps are in random order with high catalog and desirable stamps mixed in with more common material. There are treasures to be found, such as mint never hinged, unchecked issues, varieties and postmarks. Please note that most lots have very low opening bids. Jasmin Auctions retains the right to refuse to accept bids it considers not made in good faith. Stamps from some large lots have been removed from the stock pages after being photographed and will be sent to high bidders in glassine envelopes. Covers featuring fancy cancels are in mixed condition and it is the mark, rather than the condition of the cover or stamp that you are purchasing. If you have any questions regarding one or more listing, please contact us. Please also check our Terms of Sale as well for all conditions regarding this auction.
Thank you. Jasmin Auctions
