1883 Snowflake, Manitoba Small Queen Registered Cover, mailed on JUN.27.1883, which is 16 years earlier than the ERD in the PHSC database, so new ERD. The cover is addressed to Winnipeg (JUL.2 receiver) and is franked with a 3c Small Queen (tied by a Lacelle #1138 fancy cancel) and 2c Registered letter stamp (not tied but belongs). Description of route on exhibit page reads "Three different registration numbers suggest renumbering each phase of the routing: Snowflake, Archibald and Emerson. Transported by J. Tees one trip a week to Pembina Crossing / Archibald, then carried by J. Rinn two trips a week on the Boundary Trail to Emerson, then rail to Winnipeg. Postal revenues were $64 in 1883". Open on three sides and reduced at left, still a nice example of this scarce postmark.

1881 Millford, Manitoba Small Queen Cover, mailed on AUG.3.1881 (partial broken circle free strike is the new ERD) to Glen Williams, Ontario (AUG.15 receiver) through Winnipeg (AUG.8), Windsor (AUG.13), etc. 3c SQ stamp is sulphuretted and there is light overall aging, slightly cut down at left, else a scarce postmark, offered on its original exhibit page showing a picture of this post office, etc.

1879 Northwest Mounted Police Letter from Shoal Lake, Manitoba, a four page letter written by William Parker (from Romney, Kent, England) to his "sweet sister Alice" in March 1879. Written-up on an exhibit page, very fine and scarce.

Old Time Collection of Mostly Manitoba and Assiniboia Postmarks on Stamps,1890s, all mounted and annotated on 36 pages, each with a highway map depicting the location of the towns on that page. We counted a total of 158 stamps (mostly Small Queens, but also Jubilees) with postmarks including broken circles, c.d.s., RPO, squared circle, etc., with very little duplication. Postmarks of note include, but are not limited to Altamon, Roseisle, Beaconsfield, Norgate, Cold Springs, Vestfold, Carroll, Rathwell, Thornhill, Reston, Pipestone, Glenlyon, Arden Station, St Jean Baptiste, Cypress River, Treherne, Holmfield, Elphinstone, Armes, Icelandic River, Fort Saskatchewan (Alta.), Rosser, Kamsack (ASSA), Lake Francis, Hargrave, and many more. The collection also includes an 1875 GB cover mailed to John Helmcken in Victoria BC, a few picture postcards and a cover (missing its stamps) mailed from Hawaii in 1896 to Nicomen BC, forwarded (with a 3c SQ) to Westham BC (with receiver on front).
