This is a standard "Patriotic-Poster-of-the-Day" where a photo was attached to the stock poster and the Soldier's information was printed thereon. 1386   imageTwo Matching Framed Original Reconnaissance Maps of Passchendaele Offensive, both in museum conservation frames. these were printed in red and grey pastel inks so that strategic notations could be made and easily seen. They came from front-line soldiers, as such, one shows some "battle fatigue". Two different editions (printings) as German trenches changed. 1A (29.09.1917) and 1C (24.10.1917), parts 20 and 28. 1389   imageLovely World War I Print "Banners of the Empire" by Herbert Schmalz, depicting several flags of Canadian regiments placed upon General Wolfe's tomb in Westminster Abbey "Dedicated to our Brave Canadian Soldiers" while men were still fighting in France. A truly outstanding item, of museum quality with original float glass and wood frame, the painting was done in 1906 and is signed by the painter lower right corner (in pencil), alongside additional annotations from the painter at bottom. Mr. Brunsden was a Member of Parliament (Medicine Hat riding) from 1958 to 1962, the background painting hangs in the House of Commons (Railway Committee room) entitled "The Ghosts of Vimy Ridge" by William Longstaff.
