comprehensive and chronologically arranged in six volumes, virtually every whichway is included, that is to say not only the panes but also the se-tenants with virtually every combination including inter-panneaus and the horizontal and vertical X, also some good postal history incorporated into the collection, generally fresh and F-VF, substantial catalogue value and a recommended view.
The last part of an important range of booklets / booklet panes, sheets and sheetlets consignment housed in two albums from 1945 numeral types se-tenants and then first workers definitives with the scarce blocks and booklets, booklet panes, etc. For example, we have noticed Michel MHB 1-6, equally scarce are the mint booklets themselves with a sustained range of good material including se-tenants, interpanneaus with and without advertising, yet further good booklets which according to Michel are also very important, all this combined with the in depth collection itself, i.e. virtually all the worker types to the later definitives, etc., this collector knew what he was doing and this collection is thoroughly recommended for those particularly looking for the really scarce material of the first years of East Germany.
A blue Schwaneberger album with as far as we can see no empty spaces and occasional material outside the box, with the good S/S including the Debria, Karl Marx Year perf and imperf NH, Engels NH, the strip of 10 imperf 1960 125 Years of Trains NH, Michel #805b (cat €400) and ending with some particularly good officials such as the 1960s Verwaltungspost A, the 1963 first control series of Michel #1-15 followed by the scarce second control series of Michel #16-30 complete NH (€400), also the scarce Vertrauliche Dienstsache of 1965 with the usual blotchy paper Mi #1 NH (€320) and the equally scarce 1965 ZU bluish green NH (Mi €300), also present the scarce se-tenants for the different towns on pelure paper, a strong collection of this country with far more than normally encountered.
complete booklets holding 1000s of definitive and topical panes filling up a shoebox; a quick inspection reveals nearly all in pristine P.O. fresh condition, certainly some Michel listed varieties to be found, needs much time and patience, yet worthwhile.
old fashioned album beginning with Post Offices in China with the first set complete used to 5rm, as well as the overprints on the eagles at the different angles, save the world rarities yet including different shades, also occasional duplication with different postmarks, then the next overprints to $1½ on 3rm, followed by the subsequent complete set to $2½ on 5rm; Post Offices in Morocco complete with the eagles 60cts on 50pf and Reichspost 6pes 25cts on 5rm, further studies of the subsequent definitive with more 6pes 25cts on 5rm and various other denominations both mint and used, Post Offices in Turkey including forerunners through to shields to 1¼ pi on 25pf, through to eagles complete and pictorial defins to 10pi on 2rm, followed by gothic type to 15pi to 3rm and 25pi on 5rm. Then German colonies including a most unusual Packetadresse 2mk lion for the New Guinea company, followed by the eagles to 50pf with high values both mint and used in different shades through to the Kaiser’s yachts to 5rm, similarly with German East Africa also with some attractive strikes to high values 3rp, as well as all the overprints horizontally and vertically complete, also German South West Africa with a re-directed postal history item 5pf to the motherland, yet again all the overprints complete and both the different series complete to 5rm, one with Windhuk and the other Warmbad, again good used. Time and space do not permit further description other than mentioning Cameroons eagles and complete yachts to 5m, Caroline Isl to 5m, Kiautschou to $2½, Mariana Isl to 5m, Marshall Isl eagles complete x 2 and yachts to 5m, Samoa eagles complete and yachts to 5m, Togo eagles complete and yachts to 5m followed by various postal history including East Asian expedition forces used in China on a colored caricature, as well as 20+ different items of postal history including fascinating Fernando Poo card and other primary sources with some delightful items here. A very well rounded collection of stamps and postal history.
Housed in a Scott album, with a high degree of completion, the first issues of the imperf Hermes heads from 1861 onwards, a similar pattern with the turn of the century with all the Olympic series complete save the 10dr 1896. Also note some varieties, virtually all the high values of definitives series with correct cancels, nearly all the commemorative series complete through to the 1970s, airmails are complete including the zeppelins through to the 1940s, also strong back of the book from postage dues from 1875 onwards and then excellent occupations with good Mytilene, Turkey, again including the postage dues to high values, useful Corfu, the Italian occupation of La Canea complete to 5 lire, strong Crete, particularly Russian, followed by the Cretan Government issues of 1900 with all the St George and the Dragon series good used complete to 5dr, similarly with the larger pictorials, ending with postage dues 99% complete. Then follows further Italian occupations this time WW2, with the Ionian Islands complete, in pairs, good Allied occupation of Thrace through to later Greek occupations, etc, etc. If used is your bailiwick in Greece and her territories, then this collection is ideal as it will not take that much to complete.
