Phenomenal highly specialized and comprehensive collection of the Yugoslavia forerunner issues for Slovenia and Plebiscite related for the years 1919/1920, with well over 1000 mint and used stamps housed in a large volume with in-depth studies, issue specifically for the early issues, including lots of interesting varieties and errors. The collection begins with the chain breakers, with perf errors including the 15f blue mint block of four imperf between horizontally and then a gray blue shade block with double perfs, etc. Then a cover from Vinkovci to Zagreb franked with pair of the 20f brown with one stamp bisected. Also a 10f red postal stationery card with additional 3f violet with cds and SHS censor postmarks. Then the typographed issues including the complete imperfs on #3L9/3L23, through to the postage dues including the 8d on 30f top value mint and used (#3LJ32), followed by the newspaper stamps  ,yet again accompanied by extensive research with detailed plating studies on the different printings of the Eros types. The studies are illustrated with enlarged various photos, diagrams and copious write-up, including the very scarce 6f blue Vienna printing mint, signed twice (#3LP12) and the surcharges including the composite part-sheets showing se-tenant combinations of the different denominations. This is a great collection for the specialist of this area, dealer or collector, there is so much unusual material seldom seen today.

GREECE HOLDING.Many thousands of stamps, stuffed to capacity, mint and used, virtually everything stamp on stamp, housed in one substantial stockbook, completely uncataloged. Probably the very best is the Montenegro where there are well over 100 of the first issues, enough to make you tear your hair out with the perforations. This holding is stuffed to capacity line on line, same with Montenegro overprints and a similar pattern to the ,20th century. Serbia the same with young head definitive galore through to even Ionian Islands complete, the Greek islands section Epirus is huge with potential as well including early Samos o/ps to 25dr 1912 and so much here just tucked away, especially back of the book by the hundreds. 5151 og,O   imageEXTENSIVE BALTIC STATES COLLECTION.An excellent collector's collection of thousands of mint and used stamps, virtually all one of a kind, presented on both blank and printed pages and all housed in a substantial Minkus album. Much of the collection is in-depth from the first issues through WWII occupations to the post-Soviet 1990s in complete mint never hinged series, as well as ,19th century Wenden, etc etc. The collection particularly ,concentrates on Latvia and Lithuania and their areas and occupations, with both countries being virtually complete mint and with lots of additional varieties and errors. Highlights in the Latvia include first issue multiples on black/brown and black only maps, 1919 25k gray (#13A), liberation series on pelure paper (#49/51), first semi-postals multiples of 12 on complete banknotes, followed by the 1920s coats of arms series complete mint (#101/154) and the perf and imperf series inc. 1932 and 1933 airpost semi-postals (#CB9/CB24, #CB9a/CB24a) with the latter two aircraft series mint never hinged on the imperfs (#CB18a/CB24a), etc. through to Latvian back of the book with German occupation of Kurland surcharges complete mint never hinged (Mi#1/3, #4A/B), "Latvija" o/ps complete mint, scarce 1926/38 railroad stamps almost complete, as well as Wenden inc. #1 unused, 1863 4k blue green mint (#L3) and other better genuine issues. Then follows Lithuania, again with an impressive showing of first issues inc. 1918 1st Vilnius printing #1 and #2 unused (as issued), 2nd Vilnius printing complete used (#3/#8), plus interesting many of non Scott listed locals such as Raseiniai, Gardinas etc, leading on to the "white knight" issues of 1919 with lots of imperfs including 3rd issue imperfs complete mint and used on piece, the latter all with margin imprints, as well as strongly shifted shields on the bi-color values. Later highlights include scarce Gediminas trial printings (#92, #92A, #92B), printing errors on the 1921/22 series, 1921 airpost 1auk imperf pair mint (#C5a), 1922 Dr. Stulginskis cliche error (#119a), granite paper surcharges mint (#120/122), 1ct on 30ct orange (#126), 1926 swallow airpost center inverted mint (#C39c) and much more. 5154 og,O   CENTRAL AMERICA AND CARIBBEAN COLLECTION TO 1950s.A crusty-dusty Scott specialty album positively bulging at the seams with thousands of mint and used stamps from the classics to the 1950s. On a quick inspection, we note Costa Rica from issues first issues onwards with interesting postmarks inc fancy, 1883s complete 1887 mostly complete 1891 through to turn of the century, 1901, 1907, 1910 complete, on to the ,airmails inc the 1934 complete set mint, similar 1937s and 1940s, also the long pictorial airmail series complete used and much more with page after page of completion through to the 1950s, also a good range of postage dues, officials, also a fascinating range of the much underrated Guanacastes from 1885 onwards, through to 1890. Then Cuba with issues under administration of the United States, the Habliatado overprints, both with expertization marks on reverse for Scott #178 and #181 plus American Administration to 10cts used and much more, including many complete series through to the 1950s with a good range of airmails, ,etc. Dominican Republic strong from 1879, then 1880s complete, 1881s with 50cts, 1885s complete, 1895s complete, etc with many complete series up to the 1960s, as well as airmails from 1930 through to 1939, special delivery stamps from 1920 to 1941 complete, good postage dues, insured letter stamps, postal tax, etc. Then Guatemala with #1, #2 and #3, then 1875s complete, the same with the 1879, 1882, 1887-92, 1895, 1898, virtually all the way through to the 1950s, often in complete series as well as miniature sheets, airpost from 1929s onwards again with many complete series and m/s through to official stamps etc etc. There will be much more here to discover, so please inspect carefully, page for page. 750-1,000

An excellent range of material housed in 10 albums, the 1st and 2nd albums are Vatican virtually complete used yet missing the good series from the 1930s, similarly mint well filled , collection and both are Lindner. The 3rd album is Finland in a KABE including the 1930 o/p zeppelin mint never hinged, 20th century virtually complete and 19th century represented by a few roulettes to various high values 1891/01, the 4th album is Luxemburg, this time housed in a Lighthouse, virtually all mint never hinged from the early 1950s onwards, inc 1957 Europa and as well as other good semi-postals. The 5th album is Denmark, again well filled housed in a KABE from 1853 imperf spandrel onwards, most of the strength in the 20th century which is well filled from 1907. Then the 6th and 7th albums are both Liechtensteins Lindners filled almost parallel mint and used from the 60s onwards with superb used honeycomb on piece etc. The 8th album is Norway housed in a Schaubek, again well filled with the 20th century with a few empty spaces, as well as a useful showing of back of the book. The Norwegian 19th century is also strong with highlights including the 1872/75 skillings complete superb used 1sk to 7sk, all circular date stamp strikes and similarly with the first posthorn ore currency complete series 1877/78 to 60ore and then the 1878 high values complete, the 1898/1908 Knudsen printings complete to 60ore and all the 1905/6, 7/8 o/ps again complete and further studies of the 1909/10 issue etc. The more you look at the Scandinavia, the more there is to discover, definitely the best section. The 9th album is Austria again well filled post WWII, including better postal history commercially used which is unusual with high values, for example the 10 sch costumes and various other key commems from the late 1940/50s on many different covers incorporated into the stamp collection etc. The 10th book is more of a miniature sheets/topical holding, all mint never hinged one of a kind including material from other parts of Europe with topics that this collector liked. A well rounded impressive collection valued conservatively.

5157 og,O   WESTERN EUROPE EXTENSIVE STOCK (LESS GERMANY).13 substantial stockbooks, mostly well filled for the following countries, Great Britain housed in 2 stockbooks, Belgium and Netherland housed in 1, France housed in 1, Greece housed in 1, an extensive range of Austria housed in 5, Spain housed in 1 and plenty of good Switzerland housed in 2 stockbooks. The best however is the Great Britain from QV penny blacks onwards including high values QV and huge catalog surface printed with occasional "sock on the nose" cancels, through to EDVII, again high values to 5/-, similarly KGV, KGVI, QEII to pound and an in depth study of ,watermark varieties, all of which will add up very quickly. , Then Austria particularly comprehensive as well, clearly a turn-key stock from the 19th century classics imperf Kreuzers onwards and several 100s if not 1000s of mint series of the 20th century, the best probably being the semi-postals from the late 1940s/early 1950s, although the sheer numbers of everything else, with nothing in excessive quantities, also adds up very quickly. Then Greece from mint and used large hermes heads onwards, occasionally interesting early mint multiples, early 20th century, followed by Belgium and Netherlands, again well represented beginning with the 19th century onwards through back of the book, etc. Other volumes include Spain and France, the latter with much 19th century from imperfs Napoleons through to peace and commerce types, leading onto 20th century with better se-tenants mint never hinged, such as both Petain strips of 5 and various other combinations etc etc. Finally, Switzerland, with considerable face value in the 20th century including superb used multiples, m/s, as well as more obvious high value mint such as the evangelicals to 20fr mint, a good range of Pro Juventute and Pro Patrias, not forgetting the 19th century with imperf Strubeli and several dozen of the sitzende and stehende Helvetias through to high values etc. A massive holding of a wannabe trader that will easily run into mid five figures retail.Dealers don&rsquo,t miss this lot. 2,500-3,500

5158 og,O   WESTERN EUROPE SUBSTANTIAL COLLECTION.One man&rsquo,s collection housed in 7 well filled album of which 6 are substantial Schaubeks and the other an Abria. Highlights include a good range of Germany shields, beginning with 1872 both currencies with high values, mint and used, as well as the 1874 2 1/2kr unused, followed by various pfenniges through to eagle mint 50 pfennig, leading to the Germania types to high values, peacetime printings, virtual completion early 20th century, nearly everything complete correctly used with page after page of material well filled. This continues with the 1924/27 coat of arms types 1925/27, followed by zeppelins 1, 2 and 4rm complete, Wagner inc the good 20pf blue, further high vals zepps 1934 mint and other strong Third Reich with all Hitler m/s, etc, the good horses single series year by year, the 1939 Danzig o/ps complete, mint never hinged, etc. Another album with issues from France, well filled, but mostly modern era, then an earlier Schaubek book, much more interesting with a strong range of material from the 1940s to the 1980s including earlier material on the side of the album, such as the Ader 50fr airmail o/p mint never hinged and various better series from the 1940s that were not incorporated into the main body of the collection, well worth spending time on. Also seen , 19th century from various imperf Napoleon heads onwards, lots of "peace and commerce" types, hidden surprises inc 3fr merson mauve and red mint never hinged and other values through to 20fr etc. Then another album a Schaubek , with substantial Turkey complete, from our spotcheck all never hinged including the elusive long views series into the 1980s, then another album of Austria ,again, as with the Turkey, bought on a new issue service, well filled this time through to nearly 2000 accompanied by many series from the late 40s/early 50s such as the voters emancipation series of 3 complete mint never hinged Scott #B269 to B#271 etc. Time and space do not permit further description, other than stating there is much more here to discover especially when turned carefully page for page, a patient viewing with the catalogs is the key. 2,000-3,000
