The Julian Cabarrus Collection of the Philippines - August 7-10, 2020

Our 3034th Sale, the Julian Cabarrus Collection of the Philippines, features many of the greatest rarities from this popular country. From the stampless era under Spanish rule all the way through the American administration and beyond, the Cabarrus collection is replete with desirable multiples, covers, and more.

This sale has two components: a live auction, to be conducted as normal August 7, and a “mail bid” sale, where all bids must be submitted by 5 PM Eastern on August 10.

Individual highlights from the Julian Cabarrus Collection include:

  • A mint margin block of four of the 1904 $5 Dark green, of which only 746 were ever issued (Lot 147)
  • The popular 1939 2c Rose Booklet Pane of Six featuring the "Wealth/Common-" error (Lot 228)
  • A mint 1944 12c Bright blue "Victory" handstamp, one of the rarest of all “Victory” handstamps with only 36 produced (Lot 250)
