5/DE/1978 Melchior base (Argentine Antarctica) - Port Stanley - Buenos Aires: Cover sent from Melchior base to a person in "Romera Base, B.A.T.", via Port Stantley, it was first carried to Buenos Aires on icebreaker General San Martín in MAR/1979, and from there to the Falklands, received on 21/JUL/1979 with Declaración Conjunta mark. It bears an arrival? mark of "ROTHERA POINT, ADELAIDE ISLAND" for 1/DE/1979, it was returned to sender and it received another "Declaración Conjunta" mark on 27/DE, excellent quality, very interesting! 11/JUN/1979 Port Stanley - Buenos Aires, official cover sent by the Postmaster of the Falkllands to an Argentine collector, with Joint Declaration marks on front and back. It contained another cover with cachet of the "DISCO-35" Antarctic campaign sent from "ARGENTINE ISLANDS" to the same addressee on 20/FE/1979, with signs of some water damage, WITH A NOTE from the Falklands post explaining the situation, very attractive and unusual lot! FALKLANDS WAR: Cover with cachet of cruiser ARA General Belgrano sent from its naval station in Puerto Belgrano, by a sailor on the ship to his father in José C. Paz (Buenos Aires)franked with 1,700P., about 3 months before the beginning of the war, when the Argentine high officials were possibly already planning the military operarations. GREAT RARITY: 13P. Aerogram sent from the Falkland Islands to Mar del Plata on 9/AP/1982. The sender was a Corporal first class Tactical Diver of the Navy, who was writing to his girlfriend after just arriving on the island and only one week before the start of the military movements by the Argentine troops. It was censored by the Argentine Navy (it bears self-adhesive seals on 2 sides + rectangular mark on back), carried to the Ezeiza airport and dispatched there by the post at Agencia Postal Nº1 on 15/AP, excellent quality, extremely rare! FALKLANDS WAR: Cover without date sent from the islands to Buenos Aires, without postage, with postal franchise mark "ARMADA ARGENTINA - LIBRE DE CARGO" on front, and "CENSURA NAVAL ARGENTINA" on back, both in bluish green and extremely rare. With defects, the information of the sender was cut out on back, all the same very interesting and good opportunity at low start (a similar cover in good condition is normally sold for US$500+!!)
