Endorsed "NEWSPAPER PARCEL/ NOT EXCEEDING 1lb, ½d" with control numbers "1829-1840" in black below and overprinted "C.R." vertically, reading upwards in red. 622   image1943 All Hallows By-The-Tower Rebuilding Fund. Superb group of 18 imperforate colour trials labelled A-R, three for each design and mounted on four Bradbury Wilkinson presentation cards. The six chosen colours annotated 'Approved' and initialled. Offered complete with the original Bradbury Wilkinson envelope which is annotated with the chosen colour reference and the date of return of each card. 20.2.43 or 18.3.43. All Hallows was the oldest church in London and destroyed by German bombers in 1940. The stamp were sent to all who contributed 5 shillings and over to the rebuilding fund. 1017   1840-1964 used collection neatly presented in stockbook, a comprehensive range of QV including 1d black (3 margin) and 2 x 1840 2d blue (4 margin), a group of 1841 1d reds with MC (including strip of 4 and numbers 1 to 12 in MC), 1841 2d blue with some very fine examples, 2 x strip of 4 and ‘12’ in MC, also the later line engraved 1d and 2d issues fine used (SG 27, 36a etc). Thereafter, 1/2d plates (including pl 9), 6d and 1/- embossed, most surface printed issues with shades and plates (several fine cds examples noted, also SG 66 in irregular block of 6), 5/- plates 1, 2 and 4, 10/- SG 128 and £1 SG 212. The Edward VII issues are arranged by printing and most have cds (noted DLR 10/- and £1, SG 256a, 271 and 275), with GV including SG 397/8, some fine Seahorses (including Waterlow 10/-, DLR 5/- and 2 x 10/-, PUC £1 and later issues. A lovely collection.
