 1930 Jul Cover sent from Tientsin to Germany via Siberia, franked on reverse with Junk stamps of total 15c for paying international postage, stamps with brush marking, alongside with "TIENTSIN/Free mailing
during the idle period" postal marking. Mail sent abroad with this marking are very Scarce.
In late July 1937, employees of Peiping/Tiantsin Post requested a salary increase and subsidy due to rising prices and low monthly wages. They submitted several unsuccessful petitions to the General Post Office and announced their intention to slack
off. They used this undated postmark to send regular mail without charge. (Image)
