10990   image1935-36 “Via Sudan” exhibition-mounted collection of Imperial Airways and Ala Littoria flown covers, some 44 in all incl. FFCs and commercial, all sent from or to Italian East African towns to Rome or London (and vice versa) via Khartoum or other towns in the Sudan, annotated to a high standard, some of the towns incl. Kassala (Vatican and San Marino frankings), Atbara (Somali Coast franking). Most of the covers show individual Italian Colonies frankings (28 in all), all properly cancelled and backstamped, others incl. several British Somaliland, and there are only a few covers that weren’t bs in Sudan en route. A fantastic holding and probably impossible to duplicate (Est. € 2’500/3’500)
