10628 image1932: 'Chambon' Essay for the 'Superb Lyrebird' issue, 1 s. value printed in red on brown French style wove unwatermarked toned paper (a 'Normandie 1 fr. 50 c. accompanies the lot, the same size and printing process), a copy of the design as issued, presumably sent as an example of the French Bureau of Engraving's facility to print postage stamps for Australia in the future.
