India Co. vessel) from Bombay, where struck with oval "INDIA" in red (denoting unpaid sea postage). From Aden to Suez per "Queen" and thence on "Iberia" to Malta and "HMS Acheron" to Marseille (July 30) where charged '19' dêcimes for a 10 gram

1852 (Nov 11): Entire letter from Mauritius to London endorsed "Pr. Australian", carried on
the first Northbound voyage of Australian Royal Mail Steam Navigation Co. steamer. The steamer had left Sydney on Sept 20, and after bad weather passed King George's Sound on Octover 19. The need for repairs and coal required a diversion to Mauritius
and the mails were landed at Plymouth on Jan 11, 1853 (journey time 114 days). Reverse with London arrival of the follwoing day and charged 2 s. to pay in manuscript. (Image 1) (Image 2)

"Ottawa" tied by "Mauritius / B53" duplex (Aug 20) in black. Cover disinfected with diagonal slits away from the adhesive due to a Cholera outbreak in Mauritius and, displaying well on reverse framed "M & I" and "St. Denis / Ile de la Reunion"
arrival cds (Aug 22) in blue. Manuscript '40' for amount due upon receipt in red crayon. Some staining on folds but a scarce cover.rnNote: The framed "M & I" (Mauritius & India) handstamp was applied to identify mail from Mauritius and India on which

cover originally struck with rare oval "INSUFFICIENTLY / PREPAID" in red and the stamp applied over the handstamp and tied by "B53" obliterator in black. Mauritius despatch cds verso (Oct 6) with framed Accountancy marking "GB / 1F 62 4/10c." in
black applied on despatch. Carried on the French steamer "Nepaul" to Suez via Aden. Charged at single rate '9' dêcimes due on arrival (Nov 4) in Chalons sur Saône. Adehesive with rounded corner but a most unusual entire. (Image 1) (Image 2)

Suez / P.F. Amb. Mars" entry marking in red (Jan 5, 1876). The 1 s. pair affected by file fold but a very rare cover - the Tariff of 1875 rate of 1 s. 4 d. for under ½ ounce + registration fee of 1 s. 4 d; the letter arriving in the first week France
