1840/76: The "Symphony in Blue", collection of 2 d. blues from 1840 2 d. pl. 1 used examples
(26) incl. a pair and a single on cover cancelled in red or black, 1840 2 d. blue pl. 2 used (11), 1841 2 d. blue pl. 3 with used blocks of four (2) and two strips of three on covers, many pairs and strips of the perforated plates, with Plate 4
lettered 'BH' "Spectacle variety" (4 examples), etc. The pages largely based on plating study of shades, alphabets, printing varieties, re-entries and comparisons between the plates throughout. Condition mixed as to be expected for such a study but
many fine items present.
