United States Stamps

1846-1860 Issues
LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description Estimate or Cat Value
1 o 9X1 imageNew York, N.Y., 1846, 5¢ black on bluish, signed "ACM" connected (9X1), vertical pair. Margins all around, rich color. Blue manuscript cancel. Certificate says tiny manuscript ink erosion which is trifling if at all, and "paper with bluish cast the result of exposure to an unknown source," which mostly appears like uneven bluing. Otherwise Very Fine and much more attractive than certificate makes it sound.
