Sale #S120: The Winthrop Holding of Rare and Desirable United States Stamps Part 1. All lots offered without reserve. Live bidding will start at 1 p.m. EST on Saturday, March 2, 2024 thru Stamp Auction Network. Lots sold in this sale are subject to a 12½% buyer’s premium.

We are pleased to offer this remarkable holding of United States stamps. The first part is all 19th century issues with the exception of the 1901 Pan-American inverts. Starting with the 1847 issues and covering every issue thereafter. Bank note issues which will be offered in a later sale.

Among the highlights we would like to mention unused example of 1847 5-cent and 10-cent, 1856 5-cent red brown mint o.g. (#12), 1857 5-cent red brown type I mint part o.g. (#28), a group of 1857-60 issue official reprints, 1861-66 re-issues, 1869 90c without grill (#122a), 1869 re-issues, 1893 4c Columbian Blue error of color unused and 1901 1c-4c Pan-American with inverted center.
