Lot 361 - 1899 CHINA REGISTERED to GERMANY, a 42½c China #98-104 franking on cover from Shanghai on MAY16-1899 and addressed to Leipzig-Germany, pays the 5c domestic letter rate + 10c domestic registration fee + 27.5c to pay the international postage, China was not in the UPU thus these stamps were invalid, the letter was considered UNPAID and was routed to the Shanghai British Post Office where a Hong-Kong #44 (pair) was add to pay the required 10c UPU rate + 10c registration fee, the lette....CV. Sold for C$ 750
