The "Laila" Collection of United States Stamps - April 27-28, 2009

A phenomenal single-owner sale which contains many of the rarest stamps in U.S. philately. The collection starts with Postmasters' Provisionals and goes through the regular issues. Some of the many highlights are the Scott 5-5A pair with red "Paid" cancels, Scott Nos. 27 with original gum, 28A with original gum, fantastic Bank Note Special Printings with the extremely rare No. 181, 20th Century rarities such as No. 482A and 613, and an Inverted "Jenny".
