FINE-VERY FINE. THIS STUNNING PLATE BLOCK OF THE 10-CENT PHILIPPINES SPECIAL DELIVERY SPECIAL PRINTING IS REPORTED TO BE UNIQUE. A GREAT RARITY OF PHILIPPINES PHILATELY.
According to Scott Catalogue, this was part of a set specially printed for the Bureau of Insular Affairs in 1907. Of the entire set, the Special Delivery is the easiest to identify because it was printed on U.S. No. E6.
Ex Wampler. Also reported to be ex Todd but sold privately by Mr. Todd just prior to his death. The Todd collection also contained a plate block of eight composed of two rejoined blocks of four.
With 1976 P.F. certificate. Scott Catalogue value is based on the sale price in the Wampler sale and has not changed in 15 years. (Image)
