1340 c France Covers. The Petetin correspondence, 1836-75, nearly 30 covers from France to Grand Coteau, Louisiana, nice variety of markings incl. "New York U.S. Notes 18", red "New York Ship", red straight line "Ship", one 2fr40c Registered rate with red "Charge", London and New York registry handstamps, "New York Due 10 U.S. Currency", "N.Y. Steamship 10", red "Baltimore Am. Pkt. Paid", red "2" over "cents" and more, most of the frankings are the more common, however there are two of note, the first a triple mixed issues cover with Nos. 23, 36 and 56, the other 30c and 40c 1870-71 Bordeaux Issue singles with large to mostly huge margins, quite attractive and scarce, other covers mixed condition although generally Fine, a nice lot for the Trans-Atlantic specialist E. 300-400
