Ms. rate on folded cover docketed "1780 John Ball Str. Eustatia 20
Oct." and addressed to Fredericksburg Va., endorsed "favor of Mr. G.
Kelly", silked to prevent further deterioration, otherwise Fine, in
response to the continued depreciation of American Continental paper
currency, on May 5, 1780, Congress doubled the existing rates to 40 times
the 1775 postal rates, but this increase lasted only until December 12 (Image) |

of Lafayette's 1781 Virginia Campaign, at this time he was marching south
in Maryland, on March 15th Von Steuben and Lafayette had their rendezvous
