Block of 40, Positions 12-19/22-29/32-39/42-49/53-56/63-66, original gum, several Mint N.H., bright color, few gum creases and creases, small toned spots, few minor perf separations but remarkably intact, centering varies from choice Jumbo margins to just into design

VERY FINE APPEARANCE. THE LARGEST RECORDED MULTIPLE OF THE CONFEDERATE STATES 10-CENT DIE A PERFORATED ISSUE. A PHENOMENAL SHOWPIECE.

A small quantity of stamps was perforated using a British perforating machine brought through the blockade. The experiment was quickly abandoned.

Ex Boggs and Birkinbine. With 1976 C.S.A. certificate for a block of 98, which was broken by Jack Molesworth. The next-largest multiple is a block of six. Accompanied by original sales receipt from Molesworth. Scott Retail as blocks of four. (Image)
