Telepost Co., 1908-09, Black on Gray Rouletted, "Telestamp" Franks (unlisted in Scott). Outstanding collection of 30 stamps plus two advertising postal cards, nine Ty. I designs and the balance Ty. II designs, singles, pairs, and two Ty. II proofs (one a pair, imperforate), two cancelled stamps, one a Ty. I and the other a Ty. II, both with violet rectangle handstamp which is described in Kramer book as "very rare", a few minor flaws

VERY FINE ASSEMBLAGE OF "TELESTAMP" FRANKS FROM THE TELEPOST COMPANY. THESE ARE VERY RARELY SEEN IN THE DEPTH OFFERED HERE.

We have seen dealer retail prices for the Ty. I and II stamps at $750 for a pair and $350 for a single. The two cancelled stamps could easily have been offered singly but are included here for completeness of the collection. The lot also includes a circular describing "What Telepost will do for You". Group of ten items, Tropical Radio 1914 franks including imperforate pane of four without serial no., original gum, h.r., two perforated singles with serial nos. 130 and 134, original gum, one with interleaving adhering and thinned, 1926 franks with two 5c Red and single 25c Green, original gum, h.r., one 5c with small thins, Very Fine or appear so, United Fruit "Wireless Service" with four, incl. one from each year, 1910 with part imprint at bottom, original gum, h.r., one tropicalized, bright colors, couple small thins, Very Fine appearance and scarce, according to the Kramer book Tropical Radio was formed in 1904 to handle radio communications between South and Central American banana plantations and the U.S., in 1913 it became a subsidiary of United Fruit Co., a few items ex Kramer (Image)

Western Union Telegraph Co., 1875, 5c-50c "New Form of Frank", Perforated Essays on Salmon Colored Paper. Complete set of four values, 5c, 10c, 25c and 50c, middle two values with original gum, h.r., other two no gum, 5c and 50c each with diagonal crease, Fine appearance and scarce, these are discussed in the Kramer book on pages 138-139 (50c offered here is illustrated), it is hypothesized that these were the "new form of frank" stamps essayed in 1875 but were never put to use, ex Kramer (Image)

Western Union Telegraph Co., 1871-1946, Collection (16T1-16T115). The Born collection of Western Union stamps mounted on his typed album pages in three large binders, plus an additional album and two stock books with duplication, virtually completely intact with just a small handful of imperf between items removed, upwards of 3,000 stamps, each issue studied with unused, used, blocks, panes, serial number varieties, etc., there are no high catalogue value stamps for this most famous of all telegraph companies, but there is plenty of value to be found in this extensive collection
