1812   Great Britain, Early QEII and Specialized Machin Issue Definitives, Housed in Two Stockbooks, begins with a few KGVI including Scott 286-89 then on to a nice of Elizabeth II first definative issue including 5 sets of high values and 1988 Castle typeswith about £200 in face value as well as 4 £10 Britannia's then on to the Machin's with a number of interesting items noted like £1 black imperf pair. Specialists delight, loaded with gutter pairs, single and double bar type overprints/controls, phosphor varieties, graphite issues, etc, lot that is well worth a careful review, generally Fine to Very Fine or better with many VF, the ones we checked were never hinged.

1814 o   Great Britain, and Channel Islands, Nice Used Collection, The Great Britain is housed in 3 Gibbons Windsor Albums and contains a well balanced group of hundreds with strength to about 1970 and more sparsely filled from there to about 1990. No major rarities but strong mid-range value and good KGVI and early Elizabeth II. The Channel Islands are also housed in 3 Stanley Gibbons Albums and appear to be filled with good value. A clean overall F-VF, perfect for expansion or breakdown. Set a little time aside to view this one.

1815 /o   Great Britain, and Offices, Specialized Mint & Used Collection, 1840-2000, powerful grouping which starts with a quartet of Penny Blacks, 7 imperf and 8 perfed Twopenny Blues, 50 penny reds, 19th C continues practically complete to the 2/6 value, is KEVII similar; KGV to the 10/, KGVI mixed mint & used, QE2 mostly mint with important Wilding varieties & Machin varieties to about 1980; apparently the collection only sporadically added to since then; much of value in the underappreciated Offices Abroad (including Qatar) which show a high degree of completion, also a dozen used abroad including 1858 & 1876 Malta pieces w/ A25, #118 strip/3 w/ boxed purple Royal Niger Company 1898 cancel, also a little Guernsey & I.O.M. 1819 /o   India, Outstanding Highly Comprehensive Nearly All Mint Collection to 1998, a marvelous, clean and valuable collection, neatly assembled in mounts in a Minkus album. In fact, if you include the fine India sets and singles offered in ths sale, what we have here is a virtually complete collection for India proper! The few used items include better like Scott 4(2), 6, 29-30, and the mint is exceptional including 2, 2a, 4-5, nice surface print issues including 12, 15, 19, 28(2), 31-35, 36-46, 50-52, 104a-b, 129-34, 142-48, 150-67 (15r and 25r NH), 168-79, 203-06, 207-22 and apparently complete from there to 1998 with lengthy runs of NH sets. 1820 /o   India and States, Powerful Scott Album Collection to 1965, A lovely old-time collection offering a wide range of premium items such as mint Scott 9, 11(2), 14, 19, 36-46, 50-52 (50 a couple of shades), 80 with SG log "P" variety in pair, 97 corner margin single, 104c, 129-34, 142-48, 150-67, 168-79, 203-06, 207-22 plus SG 323a color variety, 237-42, 254-71, 275-88, 302-19 and complete regular issues from there. We also note strong Officials like O47-51, O52-65 (few low values used), O67-71, O91-92, O112A, O113-25 etc. Included is a sepaerate used collection which contains many better high values like 76, 93-98, 120-25, etc. The States, both Convention and Feudatory are nearly as good, the later containing extensive Cochin, with many premium Gibbons listed varieties, while the Convention States are largely mint, with lots of better sets and singles. We note many highlights such as 1½a Gandi (203), a complete sheet of 50 (interleaving adhers) plus several blocks, 12a (204), block of 16, crease on row, 244-45 blocks of 31 and others. The stockcards feature better such as mint 15, 15a, 19, 123, 168-79, 203-06, plus excellent used with premium, lots of officials and extensive States as well.
