Mail, Phone and Internet Auction - April 8, 2020

Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains 771 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike. A few of the highlights include the following:
  • UNITED STATES, There are about (90) U.S. lots, with a few early issues including Scott catalog numbers 19, 23, 121 and 211; a couple of the Exhibition issues and Washington/Franklins; also the 1930 to Date section has almost all 95/98 graded stamps!

  • COVERS, There are about 15 lots; (5) being Commercial covers including a Herbert Hoover and an FDR inauguration cover; also a selection of (10) First Day covers.

  • AIRMAIL AND BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, contains about (40) lots of Airmails and Back of Book issues. There is a nice used set of Graf Zepplins, and a few nice revenues.

  • ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, (21) lots with a selection of scarce imperforates, including a rare 20 cent Fire Pumper strip/6 IMPERF.

  • GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, about (142) lots from a variety of countries including a selection of Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Japan and Russian, and many more!

  • AUTOGRAPHS & MISCELLANEOUS, There are (12) autographs mostly Political, including President Harry Truman, along with Katherine Hepburn and Booker T. Washington.

  • DUCK STAMPS AND CONSERVATION STAMPS (Federal, Junior and State) contains about (460) lots; including (18) FDC's and miscellaneous with Souvenir cards, Federal & Canadian FDC's and a couple of licenses, (12) Junior Duck items, (19) Plate Number Singles, (64) Federal Duck issues, including several graded; (13) Mini-sheet and Press sheet lots; (17) Errors, Freaks, and Oddities, about (60) Federal and State Artist Signed - (10) with Remarques; a large selection (158) of State duck stamps, and (47) Governor's Edition lots. Also, a few (8) Canadian, Quebec and Indian Reservation stamps. Ending the sale, are (21) prints, consisting of (9) Federal (RW22,31,37,39,40,44,45,52, and 64) and (9) State prints, with a number of First of State; and (3) Conservation prints.
